Date: Sun, 13 Dec 1998 From: Susan E. Barrett Subject: re: something to think on I am 58 years old and have studied everything I could find that would help me to know one way or the other. It was not easy I had to filter thru a lot of works by very learned men and a few women. But over my lifetime (adult lifetime that is) I have concluded this: Whether there is a God I dont know. But this I have learned: The earth was inhabited my man at his finest long before science will admit. The Garden of Eden is a cellular memory of a place in the universe not of this planet earth! The Garden is a metaphor of a time and place where life was good. No disease, war or strife and long life spans. The story is symbolic of something that went wrong. Those in the "Garden" were of genetic manipulation (note part of body used to make another "cloaning") I do not engage in the sin theory. Nor do I believe any sin can be passed to the next generation. We are responsible for what we do or don't do. At some time in the Earth's history a race of people were here having great knowledge and possesed the ability to perform what we would think were miracles. Many ancient civilizations have a written record of them. They came at a time when the earth had undergone a great cataclysm and there were small tribes of people scattered around the earth. They came to teach farming, construction and codes of law. It is believed they came from the constillation of Orion and were star worshippers. In Egypt it is believed they set up the center of their activity and created the sphynx (in reality Leo the lion not a head of the human and a lion's body) They marked a particular time when the earth in precision was in the Constillation of Leo and the pyramids were a copy of the three stars off center in the orion constillation belt. Geologists belive the year of the construction of the Sphynx to be around 10,500 bc. Before they came the earth had already been seeded with hybreds and i believe that to be the basis of the jews. They managed to remain aloff and did hold to their beliefs. Their record through out the torah is the story this contact that created as well as the ongoing saga of thier movements directed by thier creators. Contact has remained in force and I truely believe that the beginnings of religion as we know it came to be as a controlling force by the creators of mankind. The control continues even to this day. The fatima story has already been proven to be a extraterstial ship. The appearances of the "Virgin Mary" are not viable but the woman seen is assumed to be by those who see her. She doesnt correct them but allows them to continue in the belief for she is aware it works!!! I believe that mankind is manipulated from the git go. He has truely not been able to filter thru all that is out there and remains dull to independent thinking. Religion has no logic, gets rich off its participants and is not in man's best interest. In fact it can be down right dangerous. It is easy to search on the net for data that aids in these conclusions. Yes, I have read both sides even the Christians who are claiming the angels of our time are in truth the devil working his plan. Come on folks get a life!
A man called Jesus did exist. Son of God? No Son of Man? No but a
creation by Paul to start or begin the trappings of a new religion. Did
he perform all those miracles? No in fact they got the jewish feasts
all mixed up and the events recorded for the times state stated are
incorrect. Were there all the appearances and voices claiming "This is
my beloved son ........ "? No those that wrote about him were in
dissagreement as to what, where, when and why consistantly. If you are
looking for logic forget it. There can be no logic in religion!
Do I need a belief system in life after death? No |

From: A Hunt Subject: Great website Date: Mon, 21 Dec 1998
Adrian, all the best, Andy Hunt. York, UK. It makes a pleasant change to get positive feedback from Christians. I suspect that a lot of the negative emails I get are from Christians who take offence at the idea that atheists not only exist but also have access to the internet. They don't actually bother to read what I have to say, they're just offended that someone dares to think differently and therefore assume that I'm an Evil Fiend out to corrupt the worlds youth with dangerous lies. |

From: Kay Archibald Subject: I just have one question... Date: Mon, 21 Dec 1998 Your page, it's awefully presumptuous of you to assume you are right, and us theists are wrong. Never assume, It makes an ass out of U and Me. I think you should change it to "I think I'm right and you are wrong." There is sufficient evidence to support either side. Don't e-mail me back saying evolution is the only way, I already know it isn't possible( at least not the way the scientists say it is.) Thanks, Sorry if I sound forceful, I just think the last line on your page is kind of snobbish. |

From: Huck Finn Subject: I agree Date: Tue, 22 Dec 1998 14:20:53 PST Just kidding - no I don't. But nonetheless, a very well thought out and nicely designed site. Yes, I'm a Christian and that is all that separates me and you - eternity. That's it. Not to much to worry about, is it? A time of endless torture and no rest or streets of gold and a mansion built for you. Don't fret my friend, I'm already praying for you. And by the way, have a very, very, merry CHRISTmas. What's that? Don't believe in CHRISTmas? Then if you are truly exchanging gifts and receiving them in two days on the 25th (you know, the day us Christians celebrate the birth of a Savior), then who is the hypocrite? Who indeed....
Spike Jones By the way, if this letter really makes you mad and you feel as if I am condeming you, you'll find that you are wrong - it's just your own guilt - see? God's already working in your life and you don't even know it.... So much for "The season of goodwill to all men"... |

From: Jonathan Brisbin Subject: the Noah's Ark Webpage Date: Tue, 29 Dec 1998 Interesting thoughts! I know many people categorically deny the existence of the Ark based on the sheer magnitude of the event. However, I feel your premise in flawed in these ways: 1. No one said that the animals on the Ark were full-grown, adult animals. Infants, eggs, and small animals would take up much less space, which leads to #2... 2. Our interpretation of nature has nothing to do with God's creation. Our classification of animals is arbitrary at best. A beetle is a beetle. All the know species of beetle "evolved" (or more accruately, adapted from) a beetle. All domestic dogs have their ancestors in wolves, etc... It would have been incredible overkill to collect every species of every possible land animal. They are adaptable to their environment, that's the way they were created. 3. There was no Mt. Everest. The earth in no way resembled what we have now. The continents were connected and mostly flat. There were no frigid "poles" because the earth was rotated into an upright position. The current high mountain ranges were created when the continents slammed into each other, which accounts for the ruggedness of the Rockies, Himilayas, etc... and the smoothness of the Appalachians (which were closer to the mid-ocean ridge, which sprayed up the water, which eroded them down, etc... and the continent had slowed greatly during this time, which left less energy to be used when they were pushed up). 4. There were no continetal plates. The shpere of mantel rested on a layer of water under incredible pressure. Most of the water that came up through the mid-ocean ridges was sprayed up into the atmosphere, creating beyond torrential rainfall. Silt-laden water slowly spread away from the crack. 5. The geologic column is beyond humankind's understanding, as are the processes invloved in this cataclysmic event. 6. God is the creator of the universe. Christians who know and love him have a hard time understanding his ways. How could anyone who proclaims to have no affiliation with him possibly hope to understand or explain his actions? I'm sure these must have been brought to your attention before, but I thought I would share some knowledge I've gained recently in researching this matter myself (most of which is available on the web--www.icr.org is a good place to start) in the hopes that some of it you haven't yet heard. I can't claim credit for the above evidences of a global flood (although I'd probably be quite a bit richer if I could...).
