I'm just sending you a quick description of my 'conversion' to atheism. As far as I know I've always been one, I'm Australian and it's been weird reading your testimonials from American atheists who mostly seem to be struggling to make headway against serious condemnation from their family and peers. In this country, secularism is the norm and a bible thumper the weird exeption, not the rule.

No one has ever commented on my lack of religion. As far as I know, most of the people I know are atheists or indifferent agnostics too, I've never bothered to ask. So it was weird reading testimonials from people who seem to be living under pressure because of their beliefs, or lack of them. Are you people living under some kind of medieval theocracy or something? I mean, what century is this?

The bible bashers are so full of shit. According to them, my country should be a wasteland of sin, violence and corruption since it dosn't have christianity at the for-front of it's cultural and government institutions. Instead it's a prosperous, civilised first world nation with a low crime rate.

How strange.
