As far as I can tell, I have always been atheist. My parents were Christian I think, but we never when to Church, and they never stressed any sort of religion on me. When I first heard about any God, I put him in the same group as Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. I never believed in them, so why believe in something even more radical? Even as a young kid (around 7 years old) it just didn't fit.

Now that I'm in high school, I get some kind of question about why I'm atheist. Most are very genial, and some don't really care (I do have a lot of theist friends), but it still irks me on how people just don't seem to accept my way of life. Honestly, I don't give a rat's ass about what you think about me. I'll live my life, you live yours. It's simple as that.

For my reasons to be atheist, Adrian here has explained far better than I ever could. For some more reasons.

1--I don't associate with groups responsible for mass murder, genocide, etc. Theists say, "That happened a long time ago. We don't do that anymore." Apparently theists don't watch news. But anyway, would you join a group if some of em used to be murderers? Would you trust them? I can't see myself associating with any group responsible for that kind of group.

2--Now, I know you're saying, "But atheists are responsible for all the calamity of the world, not us." Well, despite what you've been told, Hitler was Christian, as were many other world dictators. I don't think Mussolini, Tojo, or the colonists who came to the US and slaughtered the Native Americans were atheist. Also, since, last I checked, atheism was about 10% of the world. How can we be responsible for ALL of the problems in the world? Are all of us in key places in the world? If we are, how come I'm not? :P

3--What's more feasible? That we all evolved over time, and will continue to evolve, or that some real big, powerful guy created us, controls us all (yea, I've heard the free will argument, and I agree with Adrian on that one), and is somehow responsible for everything that has happened, happening, and will happen? Reminds me of those fairy tales. Brings me to my next point.

4--The Bible sounds a whole lot like my old fairy tale book. Morals, stories, etc. Wonder if there was a whole lotta difference between the two. Some may say, "The Bible came first." There were myths and stories before your precious book was written.

So you've seen some of my reasons. If you think that your opinion somehow matters, send it, and I'll see if I'll respond to it. However, I reserve the right to ridicule you, and post it on my page.

Stay logical
