I was raised by Christian parents. They never really went to church, said prayers, and all that. As I was growing up, I thought I believed in a God. As I grew older, I continued questioning religion. It seemed unfeasable to me. How can one being create all that we have seen and have yet to see? If this being does exist, why all the secrecy? Why won't he show himslelf/herself?

I then came to a conclusion that there is and never was such a being. We, humans, created him for our reasons:

1-We felt insecure about our world, so we created the being to justify our existence.

2-With the Bible, which was written by a group of men, not some all-powerful being, people uses it to justify all the atrocities that we have comitted

*We used the Bible when the immigrants came from England to justify the genocide of the Native Americans.

When I look at religion through this light, I see how it is used to keep the masses in line. And we encourage difference in all things, AS LONG AS we believe the same. A contradiction, which religion is famous for.

Also, what better way to keep little children in line than to say, "If you're bad, then you will burn for eternity!" If I was four years old, that would really work for me. Also, how could an omnipotent, all-loving god let such terrible things happen? People say it's the devil. But God is supposed to be stronger than the devil. So how is this happening?

People use religion for comfort and security. For a few, it is used to commit horrers of which I do not wish to talk about.

If you think a god is telling you to kill an abortion doctor in his name, then you need to crush some foil on your antennae, cause your getting some heavy interference.

Fortunately, my friends are very accepting of how I live. Unfortunately, most of my teachers say they will pray for me, which irks me quite a bit. I prove that I am trustworthy and a good student, so why must you pray for me?

Also, people say to me that I won't go to Heaven if I don't believe. Point #1, I don't believe in Heaven. Point #2, if I simply believe to get into Heaven, I believe for the wrong reasons.

Me being atheist is how I live. If you don't like it, that's fine. If you think your opinion matters to me, that's not fine. If you just want to criticize, save it for another. You don't criticize my beliefs, and I won't point out the errors in yours.
