Why Henry A. is an atheist

You tell me. As an African descendant, I have brought myself to believe that, the power of the so called "Bible" and it's tentacles of coercion is nothing more than a myth. Or should I use the word, "bullshit"?. Without placing blame on any one being, I would like to stress on the point that, the Bible was concocted keeping in mind ways and means of keeping human morality at a safe equilibrium for centuries to come, blab blab blab.

I was raised as a catholic, turned Atheist by the age of 25. Why? I can't even begin to narrate the ups and downs of my childhood growing up as a devout Christian, prayers after prayers.

Anyway, the level of education in Ghana is one of extreme discipline. I started wondering deep in my thoughts of the meaning of the word "religion", or the word "Christianity" starting from the ninth grade in Ghana...West Africa. I have to say that, sleepless nights of studying the "Bible" from the High School course, "Bible Studies", opened my eyes to see the real truth of coercion stemming from the Christian book of "faith".

For instance, in the old testament, it states, without mentioning names for now....if up need exact quotes from me : email me at ---zombiee669@hotmail.com, or egenao@nyc.rr.com ... the prophet "Eli" was disrespected by God (from the old testament) to give notice of direction to prince David to go about destroying his father's(king Solomon) empire, and take over the father's wife in addition to his five hundred concubines. Concubines, referring to hoarse on the side. You tell me if this order is not a direct contradiction to that of the "Ten Commandments" where Moses heard God say from the mountain top that, "thou shall not commit adultery".

It from this point of the bible studies which made me say to myself; this book named "The Bible" is full of shit.

This short opinionated version of my change in thinking stems from a much more diverse argumentation. Please feel free to respond to me for more letters if you choose. I don't hate the word "God", neither do I put down others who choose to believe in it. My wife is a devout Catholic, but I'm constantly reminding her not to display any icons near my presence. She can keep her deities by her side of the bed, as long as she doesn't remind me of their presence.

There's more where this came from, I haven't studied the bible for over 15 years, so please excuse my lack of quotes for the moment. I will delve into again, just to humor myself with more knowledgeable truth of this weird book.

P.S./ My thinking expands to all forms of chronicles written with the likes of the Christian bible, Koran, Buddhism, etc.

thank you,
Henry A.
